Apple pie

  1. 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  2. One bag of Granny Smith apples, Peeled, cored, and sliced
  3. 3 cups sugar plus additional for pie top
  4. 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  5. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  6. One large egg, beaten
  7. 2 Pillsbury pie crust

Heat oven to 375゚. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, lemon zest and juices, spices and flour. Spoon apples into pie pan. Dot with butter, and cover with remaining pastry circle. Cut several steam vents across top. Sealed white crimping edges as desired. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with additional sugar.

Bake until crisp & brown and juices are bubbling, about one hour. Let cool on wire rack before serving.
